Chelsea vs Man City (Match-Result)

March 20th 2011 18:18

Chelsea overtook Man City at Stamford Bridge as well as in Premier League Table! Liuz a 25-Million signing this January has been a star of the night again and proved to be a crucial signing for the Blues, as he scored the first goal of the game which gave Chelsea a confidence and lifted their game and then at last minute, Ramires struck another goal. Final score: 2-0! This result gave three points to Chelsea and they are now at the third position in Barclay Table!
Citizens started the game well and posed as a great deal of danger for the home side but after around 15 minutes or so, Chelsea woke up and started controlling the game. For last 10-15 minutes of the first half, Chelsea attacked consistently at the visitor's goal. Man City were without their best striker, Teves, as he failed to pass a fitness test today! Meanwhile Chelsea were without Drogba and Anelka, but they both were subbed in the game at 70th minute taking off Florent Malouda and Fernando Torres...which followed by many 'boooos' from the home crowd and they were certainly at the Ancelotti's decision for taking Torres off!

Luiz goal came up when Chelsea got a free kick at 77th minute as Micah Richards crudely brought down Luiz near the corner flag, Drogba whipped in a fantastic free kick, Luiz peeled away and directed a powerful header beyond Joe Hart! After this goal, Chelsea got the confidence and played a beautiful game, while Man City players lost their way!

Second goal was due to Ramires brilliance, as the Brazilian with a neat Cruyff turned 30-yards from goal, he then advanced beyong Kolarov and Barry before slotted a firmly-struck side-foot effort past Hart! Obviously after that Man City lost all the hope and were waiting for the final whistle to blow! In league they were defeated first time in London since December 09!

Chelsea vs Man City (Match-Preview)

March 19th 2011 08:42

The eye-catching fixture this week will be off course of Chelsea vs Manchester City! This fixture is crucial for both of the teams and with the season coming to its later stages, this match will be a must-win for both of the teams!
Citizens were dropped out of the Europa Cup and their European dream came to halt for this season. Now they have FA Cup left but they have a derby match with Man Utd in the semi-final!
Chelsea played a very good season till Nov, and it looked confirmed that their second successive Barclay Title was in tact, but after that their losing streak started and they got dropped to fourth position in the table! They are in the UEFA League and their match is against Man Utd in quarter-final, the Premier League table leaders!

Coming back to the fixture of Chelsea vs Man City...good news for Chelsea as several players are back from injury list like; Alex and Benayoun! Another advantage they have is the home advantage, the home crowd will boost their morale and will keep backing them till the game reaches its last second! And Torres will like to take that opportunity and score his first goal in seven games!
Meanwhile Man C have a bit of bad luck with injuries and players like James Milner, goalkeeper Shay Given and winger Adam Johnson are still in injured!
Last time these both sides met, Teves scored the only goal for the citizens and they clinched an important win against Londoners!
