Serie A Week 4: Juventus Top Livorno 2-0
September 20th 2009 19:32
Although injuries are starting to decimate their starting eleven, Juventus are keeping good form in the standings, winning their fourth game in as many weeks to stay atop of the Serie A.
The bianconeri didn't waste time to put the odds on their side, scoring the first goal inside the opening ten minutes. Like his first goal of the season where his head connected with Diego's free-kick, Iaquinta opened the score with another great header, this time from Camoranesi's cross. Marchisio then gave home side a comfortable cushion, scoring Juve's second goal in the 26th minute.
Since both goals happened inside the first half-hour, the rest of the match was pretty dull in comparison. One man who shined who shined throughout the whole 90 minutes was goalkeeper Buffon. He may have lost the title of best goalkeeper in the past two years to the likes of Manchester United's Van der Sar, Real Madrid's Iker Casillas and Inter's Julio Cesar but if there's anything the past two weeks have shown us is that Gigi's still got it. His place among the elite goaltenders is there for him to reclaim.
